Hello Friends I am going to now start a business?
Q. I am going to start a business Which is about 2d Drafting in autocad 2006 I want to know as for business purpose what software is required else this. A operating system must be of also licensed with autocad software .
if yes for which os is best.
and also i have heard that the linux software can be used without license for business is it true.

in summary i want to know that which softwares i can use with autocad that will say that it is legal .

I am very thankful if you could send some suggestion regarding this.

A. 1. AutoCAD is currently NOT supported on Linux. AutoCAD is supported only on the Microsoft Windows family. Therefore, you must purchase a legal copy of Windows XP (either Professional or Home edition) to use AutoCAD.

(Windows Vista, the next generation OS from Microsoft, is expected to launch on January 30, 2007. You could either wait until then or purchase your PC from a vendor that gives you a free upgrade from Windows XP to Windows Vista. Vendors offering the free upgrade scheme are listed on Microsoft's website.)

2. Certain versions of Linux are available as free downloads. However, the more advanced versions of Linux are created by commercial firms, using the freely available base code, and are therefore available only at a price. In any case, AutoCAD 2007 will not work on Linux.

How can you download programs to install on a Linux computer that's offline?
Q. My biggest qualm with Linux right now (if any) is that my parents are still stuck without an Internet connection. So if I want to add Linux-based software I have to perform a miracle by downloading not only the package I want but every package it depends on too... right?

Is there something I'm missing that'll tell me what to get regardless, from another computer, so i don't have to worry about the process?

A. You'll still have to grab all the dependencies separately, but you can download the software offline. Linux programs take one of 3 forms: Debian packages (used in Debian and Debian-based distributions like Ubuntu), Red Hat packages (used in Fedora, CentOS, and so on), and tarballs. With Ubuntu and Debian at least, each maintains an online version of the repository (at http://packages.ubuntu.com and http://packages.debian.org respectively) that let you download the .deb packages manually and bring them over to your parents house. The package pages also include links to those package's dependencies, but there's a good chance that many of those packages are already installed.

Alternatively, I suppose if you have a phone with a data plan, you could tether the phone.
