A. MS pros:. Preinstalled. lots of software. good support for most new hardware.
MS Cons: expensive, buggy, prone to worms/viruses/trojans/spyware ..etc, poor support of older hardware, very processor intensive, limited customizing capability, requires continual tweaking.
Linux pros: Stable, secure from most malware, tons of free software (often included), works with most PC hardware, including non intel and older intel processors, can runs some Dos and Windows software
Linux cons: Confusing to new users, must be installed, requires know-how to configure some hardware. cutting-edge hardware may not be supported. Popular commercial software such as games may not be readily available.
Apple pros: Excellent Turnkey system. Excellent stability. fairly low incidence of malware. Simple user interface.
Apple Cons: Somewhat pricey, poor backward compatibility between OS versions.
The focus of the Apple macintosh line has been to bring a computer to the masses as an appliance. So the user can work on their documents without haveing to fiddle with the configuration constantly.
Windows is positioned by MS corp to maintain a strong-arm monopolistic position on the computer software industry as a means of maximizing the value of it's stock.
Linux is the core of a concerted grass-roots approach (Open Source Initiative) that uses an ultra-democratic, ultra-competitive approach to produce software to compete against anti-competitive monopolies and their attempts to subvert everthing for profit legal or otherwise.

How much does it cost to host a Joomla/Drupal site in Amazon AWS?
Q. I want to host a Joomla (or Drupal, haven´t yet decided) based website in the cloud. How much would it cost to do it with Amazon AWS or another cloud computing platform? I am very new to cloud computing, but I consider myself an advanced PC user, and I could, say, work a little harder in implementing the cloud on independent hosting sites in South America, where I´m based, I see there is the need for some queue. I'm pretty much padawan at this. My TLD is a .org. I very much unnapreciate RoR so heroku not an option.
Having faith that my question will be read and answered, I thank you in advance.

A. I don't know much about cloud computing, but 2 minutes after reading your question I happened to stumble across this guy who seems to be doing the same thing:
