How can i uninstall linux from my pc and switch to windows?

Q. After modifying my BIOS I installed 'red hat- enterprise linux 5'. I had to enable the hard disk drive mode into RAID from IDE before installing. Now when i attempted to install windows, i turned the hard disk mode into IDE from RAID. But when i entered the windows installation cd, there is no installation page displayed. Please help!!!

A. What DO you see on your screen when you use the windows cd?
Is your bios set to boot from cd?
If all else fails google for dos boot disk and one of those would let you reformat and partition you hard drive. THen try the windows cd again.
Good luck

Which is easier to install and why, Windows 2003 Server of Red Hat Enterprise Linux?
Q. I'm doing a little research into the ease of installation of the two primary server OS's, Linux Red Hat Enterprise 5 and Windows Server 2003.
I meant to say Windows 2003 Server or Red Hat Enterprise.
Which one is the least complicated to install?

A. This depends entirely on what you're doing with the systems and what CDs you are using with what kind of patch level incorporated into them. While I have not installed RHE 5, I've installed linux a number of times and it can be fairly easy... but then again, so can windows. The question then becomes what other services you want/need. And frankly, this also depends on what you are familiar with. If you've done the RHE isntall 25 times, then you know it well and it should be quick and easy. Likewise if you've done the Windows install 25 times, then it should be quick and easy. Otherwise, it's going to take longer in both cases.

How to extend the limit of POSIX Threads on RHEL4?
Q. I'm running into threading-limitation issues with an application running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 (RHEL4), and would like to increase the limit of posix threads available on the system.

I've searched the web, and the only apparent solution is to 'patch' glibc.

Is there a more practical approach to doing this that won't require recompiling any libraries? A simple variable somewhere would be nice to edit... ;-p

Any suggestions?

A. This can be changed by changing NR_TASKS in include/linux/tasks.h and recompiling the kernel.
